NUP2200 Series

NUP series cylindrical roller bearings are an important mechanical component and are widely used in various industrial equipment. Its structural design is unique. The inner ring adopts a separable design, and the outer ring is equipped with two side retaining rings, allowing it to withstand larger radial loads and smaller axial loads. The contact area between the rollers of this kind of bearing and the inner and outer rings is large, thereby effectively reducing friction and wear and extending the service life. NUP series bearings are characterized by high rigidity and load-bearing capacity, and are suitable for high-speed and heavy-load applications. In addition, its installation and maintenance are also relatively convenient, and it is suitable for use in many fields such as motors, reducers, and mechanical equipment.

Construction details

The NUP2200 series cylindrical roller bearings incorporate integral flanges on both sides of the inner ring, enabling bidirectional axial location of the shaft relative to the housing. This design combines the radial load capacity of a full cylindrical roller complement with the ability to transmit axial forces in both directions. The outer ring features two integral ribs that guide the roller set, while the inner ring includes fixed flanges at both ends. The separable construction allows the inner ring assembly with rollers and cage to be mounted independently from the outer ring. Rollers are guided by a machined brass or pressed steel cage, maintaining consistent spacing under varying speeds. The raceways are induction-hardened to 60-64 HRC with a ground finish of Ra 0.2 to 0.4 micrometers.

Critical application notes
Axial load carrying capacity is limited to 25 percent of the static radial load rating for NUP design.
When mounting, ensure that the integral flanges on the inner ring are not subjected to impact during assembly.
Minimum radial load of 0.02 times C is required to prevent roller skidding at high rotational speeds.
For applications with frequent axial reversals, NUP bearings provide positive shaft location without additional thrust bearings.

What distinguishes NUP from NJ bearings?
NUP bearings have integral flanges on both sides of the inner ring, enabling bidirectional axial location. NJ bearings have a single flange, allowing axial displacement in one direction.
Can NUP bearings accommodate misalignment?
Angular misolerance is limited to less than 0.05 degrees due to the line contact geometry. Spherical roller bearings are recommended for misalignment exceeding 0.1 degrees.
Recommended mounting procedure for NUP2200 series
Press or heat inner ring onto shaft using induction heater to 90-100°C. Mount outer ring with housing fit H7 for rotating outer ring applications or j6 for stationary outer ring conditions.
