CS Series

CS Series insert bearings are a high-performance bearing design widely used in a variety of machinery and industrial equipment. These bearings combine a deep groove ball bearing and housing design to provide excellent load carrying capabilities and durability. CS Series is made of high-quality materials, has good corrosion resistance and wear resistance, and is suitable for harsh environments such as high temperature and high humidity. In addition, its simplified installation and maintenance processes allow users to easily replace and maintain the equipment, thereby increasing the overall efficiency of the equipment. CS Series insert bearings also come in a variety of specifications and sizes to meet different application needs and are widely used in agricultural machinery, automation equipment, and conveyor systems.

CS Series Stainless Steel Insert Ball Bearings
AISI 440C set screw locking 2RS seals food grade options

The CS Series stainless steel insert ball bearings are engineered for applications where corrosion resistance, hygiene, and durability are critical. Constructed from AISI 440C martensitic stainless steel, these bearings offer excellent resistance to moisture, mild acids, and washdown environments without compromising load capacity. The spherical outer ring design compensates for shaft misalignment and mounting inaccuracies, while the set screw locking mechanism provides secure shaft attachment. Equipped with 2RS contact rubber seals on both sides, the bearings retain lubricant and prevent ingress of contaminants in food processing, pharmaceutical, and marine applications. The bearings are pre-lubricated with food-grade grease (NSF H1 registered) for direct contact with consumable products. Operating temperature ranges from -20°C to +110°C, compatible with high-temperature washdown cycles. Available in both inch and metric bore sizes for direct replacement in existing equipment.

Corrosion resistance
AISI 440C stainless steel construction provides excellent resistance to moisture, mild acids, and washdown chemicals in food and pharmaceutical environments.
Self-aligning design
Spherical outer ring compensates for shaft misalignment and mounting inaccuracies, reducing stress on the bearing and extending service life.
2RS sealing system
Dual-lip nitrile rubber seals provide superior protection against moisture ingress and contaminant penetration in washdown environments.
Secure locking
Set screw locking mechanism provides a secure interference fit on the shaft, preventing rotation slippage under shock loads.

Technical inquiries
What is the difference between AISI 440C and 304 stainless steel for bearings?

AISI 440C is a martensitic stainless steel with higher hardness (58-60 HRC) and wear resistance compared to 304 (austenitic). 440C provides better load capacity and fatigue life, making it the preferred choice for bearing applications where corrosion resistance and mechanical strength are both required.

Is the CS Series suitable for high-temperature washdown?

Yes, the CS Series is designed for washdown environments with operating temperatures up to +110°C. The 2RS seals and food-grade grease maintain performance during high-temperature cleaning cycles. For continuous operation above 100°C, consult manufacturer for grease selection.

How do I properly torque the set screws?

Use a torque wrench with the specified torque value (typically 2-4 Nm for smaller sizes, up to 8 Nm for larger bearings). Over-tightening can deform the inner ring, while under-tightening may cause shaft slippage. Always use thread-locking compound for applications with vibration.

Can CS Series bearings be used in direct food contact applications?

Yes, the CS Series is available with NSF H1 registered food-grade grease, making it suitable for incidental food contact applications. The stainless steel construction and sealed design prevent lubricant contamination of food products.

Installation
Press the bearing into the housing using a mounting tool that contacts the outer ring. Ensure the shaft is clean and free of burrs before tightening the set screws.
Lubrication
Pre-lubricated with NSF H1 food-grade grease. For high-temperature or high-speed applications, relubrication intervals should be adjusted based on operating conditions.
Storage
Store in original packaging in a clean, dry environment. Avoid exposure to chlorinated solvents or high humidity that may compromise the corrosion-resistant properties.
Housing fit
Recommended housing tolerance is H7 for standard applications. For high vibration environments, use P6 housing fit to prevent outer ring rotation.
